Gardai at Shannon are investigating a robbery at Avoca Handweavers, Bunratty, Co Clare, in which a shop manager was confronted by three men wearing balaclavas and carrying a knife and a hurley on Monday evening.
The robbers made off with thousands of pounds in £20 and £50 notes and an undisclosed amount of foreign currency. They made their escape in a silver-coloured car which was reported stolen from a hotel car-park nearby.
The man wielding the hurley was described as 5 ft 10 in height and wearing a brown leather jacket with worn sleeves. The robber with the knife was described as 5 ft 5 in and wearing a black leather jacket and the third man was described as 5 ft 8 in, also wearing a black leather jacket.
