If this State was to continue to play an influential role in peacekeeping around the world, it was vital that our Defence Forces be guaranteed adequate resources to maintain the best training regime and to obtain modern equipment, said Mr Liam Cosgrave (FG). Our Defence Forces must not be seen as fulfilling a "Dad's army" role.
