Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault which left a Polish national in a critical condition in hospital.
The Polish man (27) was attacked in Dublin early yesterday morning while on his way to work.
He was discovered on a roadway in the Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock at about 5am. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is critical.
A man in his 20s was arrested in relation to the attack last night and is being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act 1984 at Swords Garda station.
A teenager was arrested this evening in connection with the assault. He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act 1984 at Raheny Garda Station.
A Garda spokesman appealed for anyone who was on the Malahide Road between the Hilton hotel and the Darndale roundabout between 4am and 5am to contact Coolock Garda station on (01) 6664200.
