A church building and community hall have been targeted by arsonists in the North.
A 20-year-old man was arrested after flammable liquid was doused against the door of an Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall in Derry and ignited shortly before 1am.
The building on Society Street sustained scorch damage in the fire, which burnt itself out.
The man was tonight charged with arson and arson with intent to endanger life.

Meanwhile in a Presbyterian church building in Newcastle, Co Down was also targeted.
A bin was pushed up against the door of the property on Valentia Street and set on fire around 10.45pm yesterday. The building was not damaged but a mini bus parked nearby was destroyed in the blaze.
