Four paintings are on sale at the Apollo Gallery in Dublin as part of the Lord Mayor's appeal in aid of Mr Guido Nasi (18), an Italian student who was the victim of a serious assault during his stay in the capital last year.

The paintings on sale at the gallery at 51C Dawson Street are by Christine Bowen, Graham Knuttel, Marie Carroll and T.C. Murphy.

About £78,000 has been raised so far in the Lord Mayor's appeal. The money has been used to pay for treatment Mr Nasi is receiving in Innsbruck, Austria.
