A part-time artist helped move £100,000 of cannabis for "very serious" criminals, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court has been told. Jason Weldridge (22), of Primrose Grove, Darndale, Dublin, pleaded guilty to having 3 kg of the drug in the carpark of the Regency Hotel, Swords Road, on October 15th, 1997, but was too frightened to say for whom he was working.
Det Sgt Christopher Mangan said gardai believed he was working for "very, very serious" north city criminals. He was a very good artist and had not been in trouble before. Judge Michael White adjourned sentencing to June 3rd.
