A former Christian Brother who faces charges of indecently assaulting young boys in his care at an industrial school in Galway city between 1968 and 1976 was remanded on continuing bail by Galway District Court yesterday.

State solicitor Mr William Kennedy asked for the case to be taken out of the District Court list pending a High Court decision on a challenge made by the accused. Judge John Garavan said he could not do that and, with the consent of defending solicitor, Mr Gerry Allen, adjourned the case to November 4th.
