An ASTI committee is meeting this afternoon to decide whether it will go ahead with its regional strike action planned for next week.
"The union’s 22-member Standing Committee is to discuss whether it will issue a directive to stage the three one-day strikes from Tuesday following the Labour Court’s delay in making a recommendation on the pay dispute," Ms Gemma Tuffy of ASTI said today.

The court has been considering the ASTI case since the union made its submission three weeks ago. It will deliver its recommendation late next week.
Due to the foot-and-mouth crisis, tomorrow’s meeting by the ASTI Central Executive Committee has been cancelled.
The 180-member committee was to discuss the failure of the Labour Court to meet its deadline for a recommendation and to consider plans for renewed industrial action next week, including one-day school closures and a ban on exam work.
Instead the Standing Committee is meeting to decide on next week's action.
If it goes ahead the action will begin on Tuesday in Connacht and Ulster, followed by one-day strike in Dublin on Wednesday and in Leinster (excluding Dublin) on Thursday.
An announcement is expected from ASTI this afternoon.
