Lafia, Nigeria - The bodies of at least 27 people killed in ethnic clashes in the central Nigerian state of Nasarawa were brought to hospital yesterday, witnesses said. A reporter counted 27 bodies piled in a corridor of the Specialist Hospital in the state capital Lafia, the town closest to warfare between minority Tiv and other ethnic groups.

About 60 wounded people were also brought to the hospital. Survivors said the casualties were from Tudun Adabu, 20 km south-east of Lafia.
