Police in Banbridge, Co Down, are investigating two separate attacks on pensioners in the town overnight.
In the first incident, a 78-year-old man was attacked by three masked man who forced their way into his home at Halfway Road at about 12.30 am.
They demanded money and ransacked the house before escaping with an undisclosed sum of money.
Later, a 72-year-old woman living in nearby Lisnaree Road woke to find at least three men in her bedroom. They held her down on her bed with a blanket while they searched her home before escaping.

Neither of the two victims was seriously injured.
Police have not said whether the two raids are related.
