Two men are in custody in Limerick after gardaí thwarted an attempted break-in at a bank in the city.
Gardaí made the arrests in the early hours of this morning after they became aware of two men acting suspiciously on the flat roof of the AIB bank in Castletroy.
It is understood the men had erected a sound-proof tent on the roof and were attempting to drill into the bank. Gardaí seized a number of tools inside the tent including saws and drills.
The men are being held at Henry Street garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
