Innsberuck - Austria held a moving memorial service yesterday for the 38 victims of its worst avalanche tragedy in four decades, attended by some 1,500 people in an abbey in the Tyrolean capital, Innsbruck.
Relatives joined rescuers and political leaders in paying their last respects to the dead, who included many Germans, after avalanches last Tuesday and Wednesday in the village of Galtuer and neighbouring Valzur.
