The enthusiasm for home improvement among Irish homeowners has seen B&Q start a drive to recruit 90 staff for its first shop outside Dublin.
In a statement today the company said its 55,000-square-foot shop in Cork will open in early March and will require both full-time and part-time workers.
The retailer employs just over 600 people in the State. Over the next four years B&Q plans to more than double its workforce as it expands with stores planned for Limerick and Galway.
In the next four years, B&Q plans to create over 1,000 more jobs in the Republic of Ireland.
