Baby "raves", the tale of a 500lb man-chasing troll, and a Japanese garden are among activities promised for this year's Baboro International Arts Festival for Children which runs in Galway until October 20th.

Theatre groups from Italy, Germany, Denmark, Australia, Scotland, England and Ireland will entertain 10,000 children, with 16 award-winning productions.

The programme also includes workshops and after-school shows. The "baby raves" planned for Leisureland this Sunday come with live DJs, "ambient" lighting and projections suitable for small babies and upwards.

Questions about the world we live in (the environment, consumerism and "the importance of enjoying aspects of life that money can't buy") will be raised in several productions.
