London - A 70-year-old man arrested yesterday in connection with harassing British women celebrities with obscene letters for more than two decades has been released on bail, according to police. A Scotland Yard spokesman said last night the man would have to report to Manchester police on June 12th.
Police issued a public appeal for information two weeks ago about obscene letters sent to at least 20 and up to 60 women. They included actresses Dame Diana Rigg, Joanna Lumley, Nyree Dawn Porter, former BBC presenter Jan Leeming, and broadcaster Sue MacGregor.
