Ballingarry followed up stable mate Castle Gandolfo`s victory at Lingfield on Saturday with an equally impressive display in his own right at Longchamp this afternoon.

Aidan O`Brien`s colt, owned by Mrs John Magnier, landed the Group Two Prix Noailles run on good to firm going without seemingly drawing breath.

Jamie Spencer had the son of Sadler`s Wells sitting handy in third on the rail, before sending the odds-on chance to the front two furlongs out and coasting to a three-length win over Robert Collet`s Great Pretender.

Anabaa Blue took this 11-furlong Classic prep 12 months ago before going on to glory in the French Derby, and the Prix du Jockey-Club is high on Ballingarry`s agenda, according to bloodstock agent Robert Nataf, representing O`Brien, who is on duty at the Curragh supervising Johannesburg.

And Spencer reflected: "Ballingarry almost won too easily.

"He`s changed a lot over the winter, and I can`t see any problems with him staying the Derby trip."

This was Ballingarry`s third victory from as many races, his last appearance at two coming in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud in November, where he had none other than Castle Gandolfo filling the runner-up spot.
