A powerful rainstorm that swept through southern Bangladesh today killed at least 10 people and injured 100 in mudslides and house collapses.
A woman and her two children were among those killed in a mudslide at Betbunia in the southeast.
Almost 225mm of rain fell overnight in the port city of Chittagong, severing road links with the Chittagong Hill Tracts further to the southeast.
The storm originating in the Bay of Bengal made landfall at midnight, and more rains are forecast across the country over the next few days.
