Spanish football giants Barcelona will play a friendly against Derry City at The Brandywell in July.
MEP John Hume, who is in Barcelona to receive the "freedom of the city" today, negotiated the deal. He is joined in the Spanish city by Derry City chairman Jim Roddy and manager Kevin Mahon.
European champions Real Madrid played a similar exhibition match in Derry last year.
A date has yet to be fixed for the Barcelona game.
