The 25-year-old man beaten to death in Limerick last week was buried yesterday. The body of Keith Ryan was found under Shannon Bridge on Thursday night. He died from serious head injuries which gardaí believe were sustained during a row.

Two people appeared in court over the weekend charged in connection with his death.

Addressing the packed congregation in St Munchin's Church in Limerick yesterday, Leonard Ryan, one of Mr Ryan's eight brothers, said he would always love his late brother. "You didn't fall alone - we will get back on our feet and stand tall with you," he said.

Canon Michael Liston spoke of the shock in the community after Mr Ryan's tragic death. "It's important that we grieve any person's death. It's really important that we grieve a young person whose life was suddenly cut short," he said. Mr Ryan was buried at Mount St Oliver Cemetery.
