Waste-treatment venture Bedminster is to invest €40 million in a facility in Britain.
The company, which is owned by Bill McCabe, has enlisted local operator Cory Environmental to develop a waste-treatment facility at Lyme and Woods, close to Haydock in Merseyside.
Cory, one of the biggest players in the British market, applied last month for planning permission to build the facility, which will use Bedminster's technology to process waste.
It already operates a landfill close to the site.
