Gardaí are investigating the death of a teenage girl whose body was found in a holiday flat at the weekend.
The 15-year-old from Belfast was found by another teenage friend in a first-floor apartment in the main street of Ballintra, Co Donegal, shortly before midnight on Saturday.
They were among a group of six boys and girls, ranging in age from 15 to 18, who had travelled from Belfast.
They had rented the flat and checked in less than a day earlier for a holiday.
The teenager who died had complained of feeling unwell and remained behind in the apartment when the others went out for the evening. When they returned at about midnight they found her dead.
The emergency services were alerted and the body was transferred to Letterkenny General Hospital where the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, is expected to conduct a postmortem examination today.
The area was sealed off for forensic examination and all of the teenager's friends were among those interviewed by investigating gardaí from Ballyshannon.
Gardaí said foul play was not suspected.
The teenager is not expected to be named until all her relatives have been informed.
Ballintra is a small village in the Drumholm area of south Co Donegal, between Donegal town and Ballyshannon, and close to Murvagh and Rossnowlagh beaches.
