The mother of another young sports star who died suddenly has called for an inquiry into sudden deaths involving fit young players.
Cormac McAnallen (24), a teacher at St Catherine's - another school in Armagh city - and captain of all-Ireland GAA football champions Tyrone, died from a viral heart problem.
His mother, Mrs Bridget McAnallen, called for a full investigation by medical authorities into sudden deaths involving fit young players.
"How can this happen twice in such a short period of time?" she asked.
Mrs McAnallen, whose son died on March 2nd, said the issue of inexplicable heart deaths involving sportsmen should be examined to see if they were linked to training levels.
She said: "It seems to contradict the whole idea of training. Cormac had a very low heart rate which seems to indicate a very strong, healthy heart, and if his (Cormac's) death had anything to do with his heart, then it's very hard to believe."
