Besiktas 0-1 Arsenal
Dennis Bergkamp scored the winner and Jens Lehmann kept a clean sheet on his debut as Arsenal beat Besiktas in a pre-season friendly in Austria tonight.
The Dutch international netted three minutes into the second half, prodding the ball home after it had been rolled into his path by Freddie Ljungberg.
Lehmann, who moved from Borussia Dortmund last week, was rarely tested in the first half and played no part after the break with Stuart Taylor taking over in goal.
Lehmann was briefly forced into action when Pancu flashed a shot just wide of his left-hand post but otherwise he did not have a save to make.
Coupled with last week's 2-0 win over Austria Vienna, the victory will give Wenger some cheer as he prepares to face both halves of the Old Firm next week.
The Gunners play Celtic on Saturday and Rangers on Tuesday as their preparations for the new season continue.
