Former US president Bill Clinton has been hospitalised in New York, where he has undergone a heart procedure.
Mr Clinton underwent a procedure to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries, his aide Douglas Band said in a statement.
In 2004, Mr Clinton underwent a successful quadruple bypass operation to free four blocked arteries.
Most recently Mr Clinton (63) has been heading a US relief effort after the January 12th earthquake in Haiti. Mr Clinton underwent a heart bypass in 2004.
"President Clinton is in good spirits, and will continue to focus on the work of his foundation and Haiti's relief and long-term recovery efforts," the statement said.
Mr Clinton's wife, Hillary Clinton, is the current US secretary of state under President Barack Obama.
Mr Clinton was president for two terms from 1993 to 2001 and played a key role in the Northern Ireland peace process.
