Birmingham City FC have announced a pre-tax profit of more than £3 million for the 12 months up to the end of August last year.

City's turnover rose by over £20 million (€28.7 million) to £36.5 million, and the club made a profit of £3.3 million.

Today's results are City's first as a Premiership club and chairman David Sullivan is delighted with the progress made.

He said: "Overall it has been a good year for the club both on and off the pitch and I am delighted with our progress, whilst remaining focused on the importance of building upon this in our second year in the Premier League."
