London - The British government yesterday agreed to repay £150,000 taken from the Aberfan Disaster Fund to help pay for the removal of coal tips at the village where 116 children and 28 adults died in 1966. Welsh Secretary Mr Ron Davies who announced the move in a Commons written reply, will visit Aberfan today to explain the decision to representatives of the Disaster Fund and Memorial Fund, set up after the tragedy in which a waste tip from Merthyr Vale Colliery collapsed onto a school and a row of houses. - (PA)
