The bodies of two men recovered off the Waterford coast this morning have been positively identified.
They were Mr Owen Barry from Dunhill and Mr Gerard Shannon from Kilmeaden. Both were aged 24. The men got into difficulties when swimming near Bunmahon on Sunday evening.
Navy divers searching for two men missing off the Co Waterford coast recovered the two bodies this morning.
A spokeswoman for the Coastguard said both bodies were found in the vicinity of Bunmahon.
An air-and-sea search for the men resumed this morning. Both men were last seen on rocks near the shore on Sunday evening.
Divers had attempted to enter the water at a cove between Bonmahon and Ballydowane yesterday afternoon but rough seas had hampered the mission.
A third man was recovered from the rocks close to the area where the two missing men were last seen. He was taken to Waterford Airport by the Irish Coast Guard's helicopter and transferred to hospital.
Coastguard vessels from Helvick Head, Dunmore East and Tramore were involved in the search along with a navy rescue helicopter.
