Gardai in Co Tipperary have opened an investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in a burnt out car in woods near the foothills of the Galtee mountains today.
The body of a man in his 50s from Mitchelstown in north Cork was found in the car in Glengara Woods, just off the main Cork-Dublin Road.
It was discovered by a woman out walking at about midday and she reported it to gardai.
Gardai based in Cahir cordoned off the area and have requested the services of a garda technical team to carry out a forensic examiantion of the scene before the man’s body is removed for a post-mortem examination.
