Gardai say the body of a man which was washed up on an island in Galway Bay yesterday is that of a 55-year old city man who had not been seen since November 8th. Mr Michael O'Donnell, from Henry Street, Galway, was an acquaintance of Mary Kelehan, who was found dead in her home at Cruachan Park on Monday of last week. She was stabbed six times in an attack at her home two days earlier.
A separated man with a grown-up family, Mr O'Donnell was last seen on the river walk between O'Brien's Bridge and Wolfe Tone Bridge on November 8th. Gardai wanted to talk him about the death of Ms Kelehan.
