The body of a man in his 40s, missing since last Saturday night, has been found in bogland near Milltown Malbay, Co Clare.
A bachelor and small farmer, he was named as Mr Pat Droney, of Shannaway East, Milltown Malbay, who was among a group of local people who went to the bog at Shannaway to help fight a gorse fire at 4 p.m. He lived with his parents and when he failed to return home the alarm was raised.
Gardai and neighbours began a search where he was last seen. He was found by a neighbour at 6.30 a.m. yesterday in a drain into which he is believed to have fallen. The body was removed to Ennis General Hospital, where a post-mortem was carried out.
A man found dead in a Limerick city-centre laneway early on Saturday died of natural causes, a post-mortem at Limerick Regional Hospital has shown.
He was Mr Michael Thompson (40), a father of three young children, with an address at a hostel for the homeless. The body was discovered at 6.45 a.m. by a refuse collector in Woolworth Lane.
The body of a teenager who fell into the River Shannon near Poor Man's Kilkee, in Limerick, was recovered on Saturday by the Marine and Search Rescue Unit.
He was Mr Mel Gallagher (17), of Ballyneety, Co Limerick, who was seen falling into the river on April 16th last around midnight.
