Bohemians have finally defeated Shammrock Rovers at Dalymount Park in the Premier League and in doing so maintnained top spot with a 3-2 victory tonight.

A goal in each half from Glen Crowe along with Paul Keegan's first half strike proved insurmountable for Rovers, for whom Hunt and Francis found the net.

At Belfield the students of UCD were unable to stop Shelbourne, only managing a late consolation through McDonnell on the 80th minute after Stuart Byrne, Tony McCarthy and Stephen Geogheghan had done the damage for Shels. In the First Division, Kildare County played out an impressive 3-1 away win at Athlone to advance courtesy of strikes from Philip Gorman, Keith O'Connor and an Alan Oliver own goal.
