Former world champion Ato Boldon has withdrawn from the men's 200 metres heats scheduled for tomorrow’s fifth day of the world championships.
The 27-year-old Trinidadian, world 200 champion four years ago in Athens, finished fourth in yesterday's 100 metres final.
An International Association of Athletics Federations competitions official said today Boldon had missed the deadline for confirming his participation in tomorrow’s first round.
Boldon's training partner and defending 200 champion Maurice Greene, who won his third consecutive world 100 title yesterday, has also pulled out through injury. -Reuters
