Eight people were wounded by a bomb explosion today in Muzaffarabad, capital of the Pakistan-controlled part of Kashmir, police said.
They said a small homemade device exploded outside a fruit and vegetable shop in the main bazaar of Muzaffarabad at 2.05 p.m. (10.05 a.m. Irish time), wounding eight people and causing panic among shoppers.
Four of the wounded were discharged after treatment but four were hospitalised, hospital sources said.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Mahmoodul Hassan told reporters no one had claimed responsibility for the bombing but said India might be responsible.
