The RUC is investigating two bomb attacks on homes in north and west Belfast in which windows were shattered.
No one was injured in the attacks in the midst of escalating tensions ahead of the climax of the marching season.
RUC Detectives said they were probing possible motives for the first attack on a house on Brown Street, off the loyalist lower Shankill district, in west Belfast. A pipe bomb-type device exploded in a rear yard.
The second attack happened on Deerpark Road - scene of a series of sectarian confrontations in recent weeks.
