Bord Bia, the Irish food board, will promote Irish food and drink in 32 countries around St Patrick's Day.
The drive will be led by Minister for Agriculture and Food Mary Coughlan when she visits food stores in the Czech Republic. Minister of State for Food at Agriculture Brendan Smith will be promoting Irish food on his visit to Hungary.
Irish beef promotions will take place in 150 stores across Belgium, and promotions will also take place in Intermarche stores and a selection of Cora hypermarkets in France.
Irish food tastings will take place to coincide with Euro Disney's first St Patrick's Day parade, and Disney will have an Irish village where visitors can sample Irish food.
Promotions will also take place in a number of Makro stores in Madrid, and there will be similar promotions in Pam, one of the larger Italian retail chains in Milan.
In the US, promotions will take place in over 130 retail outlets. Bord Bia will also host Irish suppliers and key buyers at an Irish Economic Forum dinner in Chicago on St Patrick's night.
A trade reception will take place in Moscow in association with the Irish Embassy. Some 350 guests will attend.
The board will also conduct promotions in major UK multiples, including Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury's.
A new recipe leaflet of six traditional Irish dishes has been translated into six languages (Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and French).
It will be distributed through Irish embassies and Bord Bia offices around the world.
