London - More than a third of small business bosses would feel forced to forego watching their child starring role in a Nativity play to clinch a £1,000 deal, according to a survey.
The poll also showed that even over the festive season many small and medium-sized businesses felt they had to put finance before fun - 45 per cent said they had no time for a Christmas party and almost a third would be working on New Year's Eve. The survey for Business Direct, the telephone banking arm of the Cooperative Bank, found 34 per cent of them put their businesses before their children.
