A four-year-old boy has died after falling from a tractor in Co Kerry this afternoon.

A four-year-old boy has died after falling from a tractor in Co Kerry this afternoon.

The incident happened at Derryvrin, Abbeydorney at 12.50pm, a Garda spokesman said.

A single vehicle crash on the Kilmessan to Dunsaney Road at the townsland of Swainstown in Co Meath claimed the life of a 46-year-old man. He was the driver and sole occupant of a van that crashed at 3.15pm.

In Co Galway a man in his 70s has died after he was hit by a truck. He died after the incident at 2.30pm on the N6 at Creagh, Ballinasloe. The road was closed afterwards and the man’s body remained at the scene.

Motorists have been advised to avoid Ballinasloe if possible and to use alternative routes.

Elsewhere, a man died when the vehicle he was travelling in left the road and hit a wall in Kilkeel, Co Down at around 8.30pm yesterday. Another man was seriously injured in the collision.

Two men, originally from India, died on the A8 between Belfast and Larne near Bruslee at about 5.30pm yesterday when their car was in collision with a bus in Co Antrim.

A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle collision in Dublin yesterday evening. The man, who was in his 30s, crashed into a roundabout in the Grangecastle road area of Clondalkin at 6.30pm.
