Gardaí in Co Louth are investigating a collision in which a young boy was killed this evening.
The four-year-old, who was cycling at the time, was seriously injured in a collision with a truck in the Townley Manor housing estate in Tullyallen, Drogheda. The incident occurred at about 5.45pm.
He was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The scene of the collision has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man was killed in a collision in Co Down this evening.
The three vehicle collision took place on the Newry Road in Kilkeel. Two other people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Separately, gardaí have cleared a multi-vehicle collision which took place on the N11 in Co
Wicklow this evening.
AA Roadwatch is warning that long delays remain on approach to the scene of the crash on the southbound lane of the Dublin to Wexford Road at Kilmacanogue.
There were no major injuries in the collision, a Garda spokesman said.
