Andrew Bree broke yet another Irish record to qualify for the semi-finals of the 50 metres breaststroke at the European Short Course Championships in Dublin today.
The time of 27.91 seconds was 13 thfastest in the morning heats.
Bree has already broken the Irish 100m breaststroke and 200m medley this week and will be in contention for a medal in the 200m breaststroke final on Sunday.
Steven Manley also set a new Irish record with a time of 56.79 in the 100m medley while Michael Williamson was 33 rdfastest in the 100m breaststroke heats with a time of 29.07.
Chantal Gibney finished 29 thfastest in the 400m freestyle heats with a time of 4:14.27 but Ireland were edged out of the 4x50m relay final after Gibney, Lee Kelleher, Emma Robinson and Julie Douglas were pipped into ninth place by Estonia.
