Ireland's Andrew Bree has qualified for the final of the 200 metre individual medley following this morning's heats on day one of the European Short Course Championships in Dublin.
Bree clocked 1:58.42 - a new Irish record - at the National Aquatic Centre to see him through as the seventh fastest qualifier.
Olympic champion Massimiliano Rosolino of Italy won his heat in 1:57.49, second-fastest overall qualifier for the final behind Germany's Christian Keller (1:57.46).
Earlier, Emma Robinson got the Irish challenge off to a flying start by qualifying for the semi-finals of the 50 metres breaststroke. She qualified as the ninth fastest finisher from the morning heats.
Britain's Katy Sexton, crowned a world champion in July, was eliminated in the heats of the women's 100 metres backstroke.
