Ireland's Andrew Bree has claimed the silver medal in the 200m breaststroke in the European Shortcourse Swimming Championships at Abbotstown.
Bree is the first Irish swimmer to win a European Short Course medal.
The county Down swimmer set a new Irish record in notching up a time of 2.08.02 seconds, behind the winner, Britain's Ian Edmond. Edmond's winning time of 2.05.63 is a new championship record.
Holland's double Olympic champion Pieter van den Hoogenband came in in third place at the National Aquatic Centre.
