The women's home international bridge championship (Lady Milne Trophy) will take place in Scotland from April 11th to 13th.
To select a team of three pairs, and a reserve pair, for the event, the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland will hold trials in the Templeogue Centre, Dublin, on November 23rd-25th, and January 4th-6th.
The programme for the east of Ireland congress, in the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk, next weekend is - Friday (7.30pm), mixed pairs. Saturday, two-session major and intermediate A pairs, and schools championship (2pm). Sunday, two-session Swiss teams (noon), intermediate B and novice pairs (4pm).
Open pairs will start on Friday at 7.30pm, on Saturday at 2pm, and 7.30pm and on Sunday at noon, and 4pm. Entries: Eileen McEntegart (042-932 1643).
