Dubliner Pádraig Harrington fired a brilliant first round 63 to claim the early lead in the Caltex Singapore Masters and continue his superb start to the season.
Harrington, who lost in a play-off against Vijay Singh in Malaysia last week, carded seven birdies and an eagle to finish eight under. He came home in just 28 strokes.
But it was only good enough for a one-shot lead over the field as the early starters took advantage of perfect conditions at Singapore Island Country Club.
England's Anthony Wall carded a seven under par 64 to lie joint second, with Maarten Lafeber of the Netherlands, Anthony Kang of Korea and Chia-Yuh Hong of Taiwan two shots adrift.
Harrington struggled for nine holes this morning. After starting on the 10th he chipped in for an eagle on the 15th but then bogeyed the next after a poor chip.
