Britain's government said today it would bring back proposals for a wave of new large casinos after local elections on May 3rd.
"Tessa Jowell strongly underlined that the policy is very much alive when she spoke to cabinet this morning," a government spokesman said today, a day after its plans were wrecked by legislators.
"Ministers will reflect on the vote and decide how to bring it back."
He added that no decision had been made on whether they would separate plans for 16 smaller, less controversial, casinos from a Las Vegas-style supercasino.
