Baghdad - US AND British bombers yesterday carried out the most extensive attack on Iraqi targets since February, aiming at a missile site, a radar installation and a military communications centre to try to suppress Saddam Hussein's revived defences. The attacks followed a critical meeting last week of the US National Security Council at which President Bush is reported to have called for more robust enforcement of no-fly zones as well as a greater effort to aid opposition insurgency. The air strikes involved 50 aircraft: 20 US and British strike jets and 30 support planes.
