British anti-terrorist police arrested a man in London this evening as part of their investigation into attempted bomb attacks on the capital's transport network on July 21st, police said.
The 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and alleged immigration offences, London's Scotland Yard police force said in a statement.
The failed July 21st attacks took place exactly two weeks after four British Muslim men blew themselves up and killed 52 other people on three underground trains and a bus.
"The man has been taken to a central London police station where he remains in custody and will be interviewed," the police statement said.
Police have arrested four suspects over the botched attacks, which killed no one but caused widespread panic.
One of the four, Ethiopian-born Briton Hussain Osman, fled to Italy and was arrested in Rome. He was extradited to Britain last week.
