Police investigating two double murders are distributing 10,000 leaflets containing details of the chief suspect to race-goers in York.
Police want to quiz Mark Hobson (34) in connection with the murders of twin sisters in Cambelsforth and an elderly couple in Strensall.
At a packed North Yorkshire police press conference this morning detective superintendent Mr Jarvad Ali, who is leading the murder inquiry, said around 30 officers would be handing out the leaflets to the thousands of racing enthusiasts who are attending a meeting in the city today.
The pamphlet features a photograph of prime suspect Mr Hobson with the words "Have you seen this man?" typed across the top in bold letters. It also gives a description but warns the public not to approach him.
Mr Ali also revealed new details in the investigation into the deaths of Claire Sanderson (27) and her twin sister Diane, who were both found brutally murdered at the suspect's flat in Camblesforth, near Selby.
The sisters were not killed at the same time, the detective revealed. Mr Ali said that scientific tests had shown that Claire, Hobson's girlfriend, died sometime between July 11th and July 15th.
He added that police also now knew that Mark Hobson telephoned Diane on the evening of Saturday July 17th.
She then left the family home at around 7pm in her light blue Peugeot 306. This was the last time she was seen alive. Mr Ali said: "We need to speak to anyone who saw her after 7pm on July 17th."
