London - The British government yesterday announced ambitious plans to combat increases in sexually transmitted diseases, including gonorrhoea which has risen to its highest level in more than a decade.
The first National Strategy for Sexual Health aims to ensure everyone in England and Wales has better access to information on sexual health and that services ranging from abortions to screening programmes and vaccines will be available to anyone who needs them.
The plan, which will be supported by a £47.5 million investment from the government, will also try to reduce inequalities in sexual health.
