Seoul - Hundreds of shaven-headed monks occupied a major temple in central Seoul for a second day in a leadership dispute in South Korea's largest Buddhist denomination.
A brief brawling and shoving match broke out between rival monks at the temple, headquarters of the Chogye Buddhist Order, when mainstream monks tried to establish ballot booths to elect the denomination's new head. A faction opposing the current head monk, Song Wol-ju, took control, pushed his supporters out of the temple and declared a postponement in the election.
