iTouch, the new media subsidiary of Independent News and Media, said today its current financial year has begun well with continued strong trading in Britain.
The company posted its maiden set of full-year results which it said beat pre-float expectations.
The company said it was now "well positioned for the future", and should benefit from the introduction of new mobile technologies such as GPRS and 3G and enhanced handset features.
Full-year results for 2000 showed a loss on ordinary activities before tax of £15.3 million sterling, with losses widening to £12.2 million from £3.1 million between the first and the second half of the year.
"iTouch has not only met but exceeded the financial targets set at the time of the flotation," chairman Mr Ivan Fallon said.
"The group is increasingly focused on the rapidly developing corporate market for mobile solutions and services and is successfully rolling out a range of innovative corporate solutions across the world," he said.
